Ever since I was a child growing up in northern Ethiopia, I watched the tadpoles. Tadpoles live in water and have gills and tails. Tadpoles are funny looking in that they wriggle around in the water and hide in among the wet flora. Later, when they are teens, they will likely turn into air breathing creatures. But when they are small and swimming around, they are entertaining to observe. You never want to poke or otherwise perturb a tadpole because if they feel bothered or angry, the tadpole will dart about incoherently and they sometimes even swim sideways as a result of their temporary emotional disorientation. Just enjoy watching the tadpoles, and you will feel a satisfying fulfillment that will last a lifetime.
